Android users can now set up YouTube to remind them to take a break from watching videos

The new controls and this reminder feature rolled out already and in order to make use of these new changes, you have to first go to the proper app store and update the YouTube app from there.

A user can now see daily average video surfing time, the amount of time spent watching YouTube on the current day, yesterday along with the insight on the same for past seven days. Tapping on it will give users options ranging from "Never" to "Every 180 minutes". When you see the reminder with take a break, you can close down the app right away or can dismiss the notification and start watching the video. When the timer reaches the reminder that has been set, the video will be paused.

At the Google I/O 2018 conference, the company unveiled a lot of new technological advancements including Google Duplex. One of them is focused on your "digital well-being" as it will track the time you spend on your device with a breakdown of each app. The Take a rest feature could be accessed by heading to options General, and also the notifications feature can be found at options Notifications. This type of updates take longer than expected and Google might have released this update in phases.
