Brooklyn Nine-Nine is picked up by NBC, and fans rejoice

Following a social media backlash from devastated fans, NBC confirmed it has ordered a 13-episode sixth season of the show, which airs in Australia on SBS Viceland.

NBC, meanwhile, will have three new shows in its fall lineup: "Manifest", about passengers of an airplane that vanished without a trace five years earlier and return having not aged, at 10 p.m.

There was a campaign to renew the series led under the Twitter hashtags #SaveB99 and #RenewB99, while Terry Crews went as far as to credit Mark Hamill's Jedi powers as the driving force behind its salvation.

"Oh NOOOOOOOOO!" Hamill said on his post. "Needless to say, these last 24 hours have been a bit of an apology tour for me". I was working on another show and I got the email that we were canceled. Netflix, Hulu, TBS and NBC reached to Universal TV with the interest of picking up the series for new seasons. The series is owned by 21st Century Fox's TV studio, which has successfully sold the show to broadcast and cable channels. While the fan outcry was heartening, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said Sunday that because of business considerations, the pickup already was in the works.

Facebook reports spike in violent content
Facebook's report suggests its investment in AI that can help moderate objectionable content is slowly paying off. To that end, the company is scheduling summits around the globe to discuss this topic, starting Tuesday in Paris.

Greenblatt believes his new existing sitcom actually fits better on NBC than it did on Fox - after all, Mike Schur, Dan Goor and Samberg all first came to fame under the Peacock's plumage.

"I Feel Bad" - not a medical series - is a comedy about a working mom who is "perfectly OK with being imperfect", according to NBC's description. He is also behind the fantasy comedy series "The Good Place" starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, as well as the brand-new comedy called "Abby's" starring Natalie Morales, Neil Flynn, and Jessica Chaffin.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine has brought an unbelievable group of celebrities together. Some were required, others begged off at least another season. But the day will not run as smoothly as the couple would like to, yet the entire Nine-Nine squad will work against time to save it. Hulu also now has an SVOD deal with the show, so the two entities have a relationship of some nature already.

Enter NBC, a network that needed some form of redemption after it effectively did to Community on an annual basis what Fox did to Brooklyn Nine-Nine recently.
