Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles loses unborn baby two months after daughter is killed in car accident

Miles was due to give birth to a baby girl this month.

According to the NY Daily News, the Tony victor has lost her baby girl, who was expected to be born this month, after being involved in a fatal vehicle accident earlier this year. After her release, her family said in a statement that her unborn baby appeared unharmed. "This past Friday Ruthie and Jonathan lost their baby, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein", attorney Ben Rubinowitz said in a statement to THR. "The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is almost impossible to fathom", said lawyer Ben Rubinowitz. Her jail time may be up to 15 years, though this tragedy will last a lifetime for the grieving parents of both young children.

According to sources Abigail was the brightest little spirit. "Every time you were around her, your heart couldn't help but shine".

The star now has a recurring guest role in The Americans, while she has starred in productions of Avenue Q, Annie, Sweeney Todd and Here Lies Love.

Blumenstein and her husband, Jonathan, were expecting a daughter this month.

Friends of the Tony Award-winning Broadway star claim that Ruthie and Jonathan were excited to add to their growing family.

According to sources Ruthie was a wonderful mother. "She always put Abigail first and was really dedicated to spending time together".

Dorothy Bruns, 44, from neighboring Staten Island, has been charged with manslaughter after allegedly ignoring her physician's orders not to drive.

News of the loss comes just two months after a March auto accident in Brooklyn took the life of Miles' 4-year-old daughter, Abigail Blumenstein.

Her lawyer entered a not guilty plea on Dorothy's behalf. Her driver's license was suspended following the crash.
