Arizona, along with April's ex Jackson (Jesse Williams), are witnesses to the impromptu nuptials, during which Robbins gets a text from Callie (Ramirez) saying she's excited for Arizona's impending arrival in NY. It has previously been revealed that both Arizona and April would be departing the show after this finale, and it looks like there will be plenty of talk about their decisions in Thursday's show as well.
If the song that played during the episode's final scene - aka the weddings between April and Matthew and Alex and Jo - sounded familiar, it should have.
Ellen renewed her Grey's Anatomy contract in January for two more seasons. Mer feels like she's finally become happy without Cristina and Derek in her life and doesn't want to lose that, so she haphazardly offers Jo an attending position at Grey Sloan. April planned the flawless wedding for Jo and Alex, but thanks to an emergency surgery, the couple getting trapped in a barn, and a mix up in directions to the location, plans had to be changed. Will she find love by the end of season 14? She is rushed to Grey-Sloan and Bailey is seemingly left to tend to the patient by herself until an unexpected Teddy shows up at the hospital to ask for a job. Back at the hospital, the revived mother-of-the-bride is able to witness her daughter's nuptials thanks to Bailey. But Wong is still pitch-perfect with her irreverent takes on motherhood and sudden fame.
Also, Bailey had taken the mother of the bride's misfortune as a sign and chose to take the trailblazer check she received - which by her reaction seemed to be a substantial amount - and go on sabbatical.
'So in classic Grey's bittersweet style we will leave you tonight with tears in your eyes and hopefully smiles on your faces. That's not so great for Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), who are clearly still in love with each other and seemed primed to reunite.
