Larry Kudlow suffers heart attack, Trump says

President Trump says his chief economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, has suffered a heart attack and is being hospitalized.

Trump tweeted the news just hours before his historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Kudlow said he is "in accord" with Trump's agenda and his team at the White House would help implement the policies set by the president.

No additional information on Kudlow's condition was immediately available from the White House. Kudlow's wife, Judy Pond, told the Washington Post late Monday night that "he's doing fine". The president tweeted that Kudlow is now at Walter Reed Medical Center.

Kudlow, 70, joined the Trump administration as the director of the National Economic Council in March.

Trudeau, in a news conference on Saturday, reiterated his strong objections to steep tariffs on Canadian exports of steel and aluminum to the United States.

"He really kind of stabbed us in the back", Kudlow said.

There was no additional information from the White House or second source, rather it was only Trump's twitter account.

The adviser most recently took center stage in the economic negotiations at the G7 summit, and backed Trump in his criticisms of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over tariffs. He was a CNBC contributor before returning to the White House this year.
