Coinbase, the United States' largest cryptocurrency exchange and wallet platform, has announced its intention to add Ethereum Classic on its trading platform. The cryptocurrency exchange stated that it will announce a launch date for trading through its official blog and Twitter as the final testing phase of the technical integration is reached. After evaluating factors such as liquidity, price stability, and other market health metrics, we may choose to add Ethereum Classic to the Coinbase platform.

Coinbase has plans to add Ethereum Classic (ETC) to its platform, expanding its offerings to five different digital currencies. Any investor that held Ethereum on GDAX at the time of the fork in 2016 will be credited ETC when the coin is listed later this year.

Whilst it is not conclusive that this will happen, given the right climate and a well timed launch for the listing on Coinbase, we could see Ethereum Classic move back up to its all time height of $45.00, above all, it's a very exciting time indeed for both Coinbase and the Ethereum Classic project.

According to their announcement, Ethereum Classic [ETC} will be available to trade against Binance token [BNB] and Tether [USDT] as separate pairs from today i.e. 12th of May 2.30 AM [UTC].

Ethereum Classic is a digital currency that is the result of a hard fork in the ethereum blockchain. Data from CoinMarketCap shows that the price of Ethereum classic starting moving north immediately after the announcement. After the catapult gain, ETC is now trading at $15.59 with a market cap of $1.59 billion.

Coinbase Prime - the Prime team is planning to add trading support for Ethereum Classic.

At the time of this writing, ETC is trading at $16.05 up roughly 23.84 percent over the last 24 hours - making ETC one of the best performing cryptocurrencies for the day. Ranking at the 16th position, BNB is now trading at $16.03 with a market cap of $1.82 billion.
