Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with a GT350-specific tread pattern and compound replace the previous GT350's Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Meanwhile, the rear of the auto has a new spoiler with an optional Gurney flap.

The most important updates for GT350 fans?

The 2019 Mustang Shelby GT350 will be available to customers in the U.S. starting in early 2019, with prices expected to start around the $50,000 mark and enrolment in a complimentary Track Attack driving program included in the cost of each vehicle. You will not however spot the changes to the suspension - the dampers and springs have been revised - or to the electronic safety and power-steering systems. Also, unlike the non-Shelby models, the 2019 GT350 will not wear the new front end design, with the engineers sticking with the front end from the 2015-2017 model years. The unit produces the same 526 horsepower (392 kilowatts) and 429 pound-feet (581 Newton-meters) of torque, and comes paired to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission.

"It's a rewarding vehicle to drive on track for amateurs as well as pros", he said.

The Shelby GT350 is design to carve up road courses so for the 2019 model year, the engineers focused on improving the cornering capabilities of the high performance Ford pony vehicle. "It's confidence inspiring in corners and begs to be pushed harder and to take corners faster".

While numerous upgrades are focused on performance, Ford didn't overlook creature comforts.

The last Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 came in fifth-generation guise (live rear axle) making 662 hp using a 5.8-liter supercharged V8. Those will include a new machined-aluminum instrument panel applique, new door panel inserts and a new power seat option.

Inside a new 12-speaker B&O PLAY audio system by Harman is now available and the SYNC 3 infotainment system is accessed via an 8-inch touschscreen.

Along with its current crop of exterior paints, the GT350 can now be had in Ford Performance Blue or Velocity Blue, with optional Kona Blue, Shadow Black, or Oxford White racing stripes if desired.

These changes for the 2019 model year were made with help from FIA World Endurance Ford GT driver Billy Johnson.

Oddly, the revised Shelby GT350 will not share the reworked headlights, taillights, or digital gauge cluster that the lesser 2019 Mustangs received.

While the Motor Company rolled out the 2019 Mustang Shelby GT350 today, there was no word on the GT350R.
