Activision revealed at E3 that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 won't be getting just one special edition but in fact will have three different special editions for fans to choose from. What's even better is that this offer starts tonight (June 11, 2018). The Back in Black maps will include Jungle, Summit, Slums, and Firing Range. In fact, the so-called Black Ops Pass is slightly more restrictive than it's been in years past.
Black Ops Pass (BOP) content is not final, is subject to change, and may not include all downloadable content available for the game.
While there was no new Black Ops 4 news shared by Activision during Sony's E3 showcase, there was a big update made. How can I upgrade to get the Black Ops Pass content?
Mourinho to allow Anthony Martial to leave if he lands Gareth Bale
Martial, 22, scored 11 goals in 45 appearances last season, but saw his opportunities limited by the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January.
That puts a strain on players to buy higher editions of the game in order to get the content they want, especially if all they want is the standard edition along with the Black Ops pass.
So that seems to indicate if you have a physical copy of the base game you can "purchase a separate upgrade" - or Season Pass as it's known everywhere else - to upgrade to the Black Ops Pass, at least if your on Xbox One or PS4 in Europe. Black Ops 4 launches on October 12 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
UPDATE: Well that was quick, Activision have updated the FAQ to say that you will be able to buy the Season Pass.
If you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can download the game for free from today. As more is learned about the game and the Black Ops Pass, however, this could change.
