The caretaker Punjab government has made a decision to impose Section 144 in the areas adjoining the Lahore airport to avoid any untoward incident during the arrival and likely arrest of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The interior ministry has placed their names on the Exit Control List, which bars individuals from leaving the country. Captain (retired) Safdar, who was given a one-year jail by the corruption court handed himself in, NAB said in a statement. The law enforcement agencies have prepared a security plan under which Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz will be sent to Islamabad on another plane immediately after their arrival at Lahore airport. "I am not afraid of anyone", Nawaz said in an interview with a local media outlet.
Nawaz Sharif, along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz will land in Lahore on Friday and address the supporters at the Lahore airport and then will make their way to the NAB office at Thokar Niaz Baig. "On the announcement of the Sharif family that Nawaz and Maryam are arriving in Lahore on Friday at 6.15 p.m., we have written to the Punjab government to coordinate with NAB for their arrest at the airport", said an NAB official on Monday. The participats also reviewed security arrangements pertaining to Nawaz's arrival in Lahore.

"Since the road option may be hard for the authorities concerned with regard to provide security cover, a helicopter should be provided to the NAB to avoid problems in the arrest and shifting them (Nawaz and Maryam) to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi after producing them before the accountability court", the official said.
