Investigators say Michael Boatwright, 22, is one of the two armed suspects who wore masks and confronted Jahseh Onfroy, known as XXXTentacion, when he was killed on June 18.
Boatwright, of Fort Lauderdale, was initially arrested last week on an unrelated drug charge before a court issued an arrest warrant for him on Tuesday in connection with Onfroy's murder.
Shortly after XXXTentacion was shot, people in the area filmed his lifeless body.
Husband finds bodies of wife, mechanic in vehicle
Sources say the wife and the mechanic were having sex in a vehicle in the garage when they were both killed by the poison gas. Law enforcement sources said they believed the wife was paying for her vehicle work by having sex with the mechanic.
The arrest comes two weeks after Dedrick D. Williams was captured and reserved for the first-degree kill. "Onfroy was transported to Broward Health North where he was pronounced dead", the news release continues.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives said were still seeking a man named Robert Allen, a 22-year-old described as a person of interest in the case. Numerous photos that they shared, including the one above, showed the two rappers with a red mask.
The 22-year-old was already in Broward County Jail after his arrest Thursday on felony cocaine possession with intent to sell or deliver and misdemeanor marijuana possession charges, which brought additional violation of probation charges. The sheriff's office didn't say whether it is accusing Boatwright or the other man of killing Onfroy. Documents containing evidence to support the charge have been sealed, Broward County Sheriff Public information Officer Keyla Concepción told HuffPost on Wednesday.
