There's a good chance that spammers and scammers will latch on to Prime Day much as they have with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so be wary of unsolicited emails or links to deals on social media no matter how legitimate they look: anything asking for card details or login details is a scam.
Of course, the gimmick is another opportunity for Amazon to promote its own products.
The lowest prices will be on Amazon-exclusive collections, which have stealthily been taking over the site. Furniture brands Rivet and Stone & Beam, home and kitchen label Solimo, and women's activewear line Core 10 are among the in-house brands that are being sold at a discount.
Amazon bought Whole Foods in 2017 for $13.7 billion, and has steadily been synergizing the brands. This is the first Prime Day since Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods, which officially closed in August 2017.

The event seems to expand every year, both in terms of the number of items that get their prices slashed and the duration of the discounts themselves.
While available at Rs 34,999 for 6GB and 64GB variant in India, the One Plus 6 will be available in the Amazon Prime Day 2018 sale at Rs 9,633 with the exchange, the Indian Express reported. It is not yet known whether Amazon will offer a better deal on this model on Prime Day. A May Yahoo Finance survey of 7,000 Prime members found that about half of the Prime member respondents planned to drop the service.
