GLOW gets Emmy nomination love, no luck for WWE

Sterling K. Brown, who won lead actor in a drama series previous year for the show, is nominated again; he'll compete against Jeffrey Wright ("Westworld").

It was a very strong freshman class, and all five shows are back this year. The minority nominations included a historic nod for Sandra Oh, who became the first nominee of Asian descent in the leading actress in a drama series for her role in the BBC America series Killing Eve.

HBO's Game of Thrones is closely followed by dystopian sci-fi series The Handmaid's Tale, which gained 20 nominations and won top drama previous year.

"Game of Thrones" will compete for best drama with last year's Emmy champion, Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale", which also won nods for actresses Elisabeth Moss, Alexis Bledel, Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd and Yvonne Strahovski.

"Game of Thrones" was out of the running in 2017 because the show aired later than usual. NBC shows earned 78 nods.

The storm moved through Watford City shortly after midnight, hitting an RV park the hardest, according to sheriff's officials. The three are missionaries helping the Red Cross by going through the wreckage trying to retrieve valuables for homeowners.

The series had been expected to dominate the acting races among the limited series and TV movies - and indeed it did, with Darren Criss, Penelope Cruz, Edgar Ramirez and Ricky Martin all nominated.

The top comedy nominee is Donald Glover's Atlanta, with 16.

Al Pacino, Kyle MacLachlan, and Michael B Jordan were all in the hunt but missed out.

The short-lived revival of "Roseanne", canceled because of star Roseanne Barr's racist tweet, drew only one major nomination, a supporting actress nod for Laurie Metcalf. "This is the most diverse class of performer nominees we've had - we're nearly up to a third, which is fantastic", Maury McIntyre, TV academy president.

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards will kick off on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
