"Because she's lived a much longer life than I have", she added, jokingly referring to the fact that Cher is 72, only three years older than Streep herself.
Cher went on to recommend the film, saying it is a fun film at a time when we all need some fun.

Lily James will play young Donna.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again lays all of its Abba love on us with platform heels, tongue-in-cheek humour and joy-infused musical performances choreographed to perfection by Anthony Van Laast.
