Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) on Thursday announced the launch of its new premium scooter ' Burgman Street' with a price tag of Rs 68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Burgman Street stays true to its maxi-scooter design with its comfort-enabling features aerodynamic shape. Suzuki claims the body mounted windscreen fixed at the front is functional and it reduces the wind blast.
The new Suzuki scooter is loaded with a multifunction, fully-digital instrument panel with a digital clock, fuel gauge, oil change indicator and a dual trip meter. Suzuki has started deliveries of the Burgman Street in India; prospective buyers can make a booking for an amount of INR 5,000. Tubeless tires, front disk brake, 12V charging socket and multi-function key slot are the other premium bits. "By bringing in the unique exposure of Suzuki's worldwide Burgman heritage, we believe that it will be a "Special One" in this segment that will herald a new era of luxury scooter riding in India", said Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd. The air-cooled single-cylinder BS-IV compliant engine develops 8.6hp at 6,500rpm and 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm.

The Suzuki Burgman Street features a long seat, massive underseat storage and a wide footboard. With a kerb weight of 108kg, the Burgman Street weighs 7kg more than the Access 125, which sits at 101kg. "The new Burgman Street will not only help us strengthen our portfolio in this segment, but will also help us cater a new dimension of scooter customers, who seek luxury and joy of riding". It gets a front disc brake and a rear drum brake with Combi-Brake System as standard. The mill comes mated to CVT. This is the first time Suzuki introducing the Burgman series in India.
