Answer Update lets Alexa get back to you when she's stumped

"Answer Update" is a new feature for Alexa that notifies you when she comes up with the answer to a question that she couldn't respond to immediately

Let's face it, all virtual assistants can find themselves stumped every now and then.

In a statement to PCMag, Amazon said it will be rolling out this feature to "all Alexa customers over the coming week".

The new Answer Update feature will be opt-in, with Alexa asking users if they want to turn on the feature when faced with an unanswered question. It's not uncommon for digital assistants to be unable to answer certain questions and, until now, the only way to know if the answer had been added to Alexa's database was to ask again in the future.

This is an optional feature that is not enabled by default.

Robert Allen, Dedrick Devonshay Williams and Michael Boatwright, all 22, were arrested earlier in connection with the case. He was booked on two charges, which include murder in the first degree and robbery with a deadly weapon, ' TSR notes.

"Once Answer Updates is turned on, each time you ask Alexa a factual/informational question and she doesn't know the answer, she will go find it and send you a notification on the Echo device when she has it", Amazon explained. To see if your Alexa-powered device has received the Answer Update feature, just say "Alexa, turn on Answer Update".

This promotion is only available to those who have an Alexa-enabled device, like the Echo Dot linked to their Amazon account, but at this point that's likely most of you.

This update means there'll be a new answer to questions, with the speaker now fobbing you off by saying it'll notify you should it ever work out the answer.
