There was a lot of talk about the inclusion of seamer Jamie Porter ahead of the first Test but Captain Root preferred Sam Curran and the player delivered a Man-of-the-Match performance.

All the best story-lines have been used before, or so they say, but the one for this England v India five-Test series has been used only once - when the central figure was even more arresting, and even more dominant in his sport, than India's captain Virat Kohli.

Jasprit Bumrah, who bowled briefly in the nets, would not be ready for Thursday's second Test, Arun stated.

This is not the first time when Arjun has bowled to the Indian team in the nets- the yound all rounder, son of the leagendary Sachin Tendulkar - has bowled to Indian batsmen in the past too.

Kohli, while addressing the press conference on the eve of the second Test at Lord's, said that there are just about a few adjustments batsmen need to make, particularly in how they react to situation after wickets fall down.

Kohli scored 149 in the first innings while the other batsmen could only score 107 runs combined. "There was huge improvement from the first innings to the second and that was extremely welcome", he said. "He's out of contention for the second Test".

He didn't divulge if an additional spinner in Ravindra Jadeja or Kuldeep Yadav will come into play. Umesh Yadav was also impactful. "Tempting thought to field two spinners, but it's a decision that the team management will make taking into consideration the balance of the side", he added.

The 20-year-old, who has scored 684 runs in the County Championship at an average of 85.50 this season, comes into the squad as Dawid Malan is dropped.

"I'm looking forward to him, more than anything, just going out there and being himself - and playing exactly as he has done throughout this summer".

But in the upcoming match, England would like to improve in a few areas along with the catching in the slips to pressurise the Indian batsmen.
