After an entertaining back and forth early on, it would end up being Gilpin who found the D'Arce choke submission for the victory in the second round. Come out, put on pressure, apply my skill set.

Nzechukwu was a second time Contender Series veteran but his performance previous year wasn't enough to get the call up to the UFC.

Moffett had his previous win showcased on Dana White's Lookin' For a Fight which got him the spot here on this episode of the Contender Series.

It was an impressive win for the Dallas-based Nzechukwu and the fastest of his career.

Devonte Smith earned a brutal knockout in a lightweight matchup against previously undefeated prospect Joe Lowry.

On Tuesday night, August 7, 2018, the second season of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series culminated at the TUF Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dana White's contract selections: White gave contracts to the aforementioned Smith and Nzechukwu and also gave one to Moffett.

Kennedy Nzechukwu made quick work of Dennis Bryant in a light heavyweight matchup on Tuesday night.

"We have nothing but time", White said when asked how soon Hardy could make his UFC debut. He has the youth and size going for him as well as a good head on his shoulders and a good camp behind him. It will be interesting to see what the promotion has in store for the former National Football League star the next time he enters the cage.
