Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes join Everton

Barcelona pair Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes were joined by Brazil global Bernard at Goodison Park, before Marco Silva moved to quickly snap up Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on a season-long loan deal.

During negotiations for Mina, Everton were offered Gomes on a season-long loan, the Portugal midfielder having struggled at Barcelona since his €35m (£31.5m) arrival from Valencia two years ago.

The 23-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but the Toffees have won the race, shelling out almost £30million. However after the initial loan Southampton will have an obligation to buy the Englishman for £20 million.

However, as Barcelona signed three South American players this summer, it became abundantly clear that Mina will become an expendable, with his departure only a matter of time.

"I spoke to Lucas and he told me all about the club, which also made me keen to come here".

The new players could take a while to adapt to their new surroundings, but it is imperative that Everton start the season strongly and pick up important points in the opening weeks of the 2018-19 campaign.

Gomes and Mina were joined by the free signing of Brazilian winger Bernard yesterday.

"The English club will pay FC Barcelona €30.25 million plus €1.5 million in variables. He is a very good coach and he has achieved really good things at other clubs", he said in a statement. This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to competing here.
