In an interview September 4 on Good Morning America, Owens said he has since quit the position, which he took for its flexibility so he could continue to pursue acting. "They might pay better, have better benefits, but actually, it's not better", Owens said last week on "Good Morning America".

The episode is slated to air in late October.

Owens said he worked at the grocery store for 15 months to help support his family but left his position when he learned of the media coverage in the works. The former Cosby Show star will appear in the sixth episode of NCIS: New Orleans' upcoming fifth season, TVLine has learned, playing Commander Adams, a longtime friend of Dwayne Pride (played by Scott Bakula).
