The Storm became the sixth team to sweep a Finals in three games - something the team did in 2010.

Washington already has staved off elimination on three occasions this postseason: The Mystics routed Los Angeles in a single-elimination second-round matchup at home; they won Game 4 at home in the semifinals; and then they won on the road in a squeaker over Atlanta in Game 5 to advance to the WNBA Finals.

Stewart scored 17 points to help Seattle take a 47-30 halftime lead.

"We shot the ball extremely well and I don't know if it was our defense or shots just not going in for them", coach Dan Hughes said.

"Way at the beginning, I said at the start, I was exhausted of losing", said Stewart, the Finals and league MVP. "God blessed me with an opportunity to coach her and I will be forever grateful". A masked Sue Bird, the oldest player in the league, finished the game with 10 points and 10 assists.

"Obviously each is special in its own way, but this one is probably going to have - I don't know, just a different meaning for me because so many reasons that we already know, right, like I didn't know if I'd even be playing at this point", she said.

"There is probably no comparison to be honest". "I think that they are really, really good and I love watching them play".

The coach sensed something brewing early in his first year with the franchise.

Washington had one last push in the fourth quarter, cutting Seattle's lead to just five points with less than seven minutes left in the game behind a huge 3-point bucket from Tierra Ruffin-Pratt.

Liberian President George Weah makes football comeback aged 51
Liberia's President George Weah laughs during a news conference at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, April 4, 2018. It had been 16 years since Weah's last worldwide football appearance and months after his presidential inauguration.

"That's the Breanna Stewart I remember", Auriemma said.

"I think Natasha Howard is the biggest difference between [the Storm] last year and this year on the court".

With Mystics star Elena Delle Donne appearing to get stronger with each passing day, the Storm can't afford to give away any games. Kristi Toliver had 22 points.

In front of the sold-out George Mason EagleBank Arena of 9,164 souls and not Capital One Arena because of a previously scheduled Drake concert, things got off to a great start for the "home" team. Beyond the obvious, the circumstances of a venue change (thanks, Drake and Migos), the rise of the Washington Mystics in a short period of time has been nothing short of remarkable. Previous year we were brand new. I didn't know (Toliver's' favorite) beer.

ED: "To get her - trust me, I know, I've got you, Panda. Now I can go to the bar, order her everything she needs".

Voting for the All-WNBA First and Second Teams was conducted at the conclusion of the regular season.

KT: "I'm going to need a lot tonight". Seattle led the league by scoring 31.1 percent of their points from beyond the arc, with Washington next at 29.8 percent.

In Game 1, Washington made just 3 of 21 shots from beyond the arc. Since the league went to a best-of-five format in 2005, four teams trailed 0-2.
