Jon Hamm would like to play Batman, thanks

As he admits, he's been a huge comic book fan since he was a kid and thoroughly enjoyed both Marvel Studios' Black Panther and FX's Legion.

Jon Hamm isn't shying away from speculation that he wants to take on a certain super-sized role.

Affleck was previously attached to direct The Batman, though he ended up walking back his obligations of starring and directing to only potentially starring, with reports surfacing that the film will focus on a younger version of the character and wouldn't necessarily require Affleck to reprise the role. I think the Internet wants what it wants.

Ben Affleck hasn't turned in his cape just yet, but one major Hollywood actor is already setting his sights on the role of the Caped Crusader. "But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the internet". "And I - I like the genre, and I like 'em when they're done well".

"I've had rumors about that since probably - since season one of Mad Men".

The investigation and resignation were announced on the same day that Francis is meeting with a delegation of U.S. Francis removed McCarrick as a cardinal in July after a US church investigation found the allegation credible.

"I'd probably fit the suit", Hamm also said.

"I have never been offered anything", he said. And I've sat in the room with all these guys. "The ones that really turned my head, and I pulled them off newsstands when I was in grade school and junior high, what really started turning my head were the ones I think started turning a lot of people's heads: the Frank Miller stuff with "Elektra: Assassin" and "Dark Knight", Bill Sienkiewicz and all of his insane artwork that really elevated the genre". I have never been offered anything. With that being said, there's a lot of people who think that Hamm would make a really good Bruce Wayne.

The reality is that he'd only really work in a Batman movie that either adapted The Dark Knight Returns or something like Batman Beyond where he's setting up a legacy character. The Mad Men star has been linked to the role by fans for years, though he hasn't ever been in the running to play it closely enough to audition.

But one major road block to getting the job may have been removed with reports that a "shake-up" at Warner Bros might see more than one superhero role recast.

But what about Jon Hamm?
