Nintendo Delays Upcoming Nintendo Direct

Nintendo Direct cancelled because of Japanese earthquake

Nintendo Direct Highlighting Upcoming Switch and 3DS Titles Happening on September 6

The Nintendo Direct presentation stream which was set to announce new Switch and 3DS games has been postponed to a later date due the devastating natural disaster in Hokkaido, Japan.

We expect a new date to be set soon but Nintendo are likely to wait until the whole region, and everyone living there, is declared safe.

Nintendo's upcoming Direct was supposedly going to be a large one, serving as a 35-minute-long showcase for upcoming Nintendo Switch and 3DS titles.

Typically we'd see a 3DS entry in-between major console drops but with the 3DS waning we really don't know what Nintendo has planned for the future.

At least seven people were killed when the magnitude-6.7 quake hit Japan's north island of Hokkaido Thursday morning.
