Tottenham boss Pochettino not ruling out new deal for Alderweireld

Mauricio Pochettino Backs Hugo Lloris Following Drink Driving Admission

France's World Cup-winning captain Lloris is "expected to be out for several weeks" with a thigh injury according to the club, while manager Mauricio Pochettino is more hopeful Alli could return in time for the trip to Brighton on Sep 22.

Lloris was convicted for drink-driving after being pulled over in his vehicle and breathalysed - which revealed he had over double the legal alcohol limit in his system while at the wheel.

"Of course he's the first that regrets everything, and all that happened yesterday is not good". He said he was guilty and responsible. "The staff, the club, the fans, us, and he said that any decision that you take gaffer or the club I think is fair". He made a mistake and he's suffered the punishment. He is punishing himself.

"Rather than congratulate him and the club, people need to congratulate me and say thank you because I allowed him to go there and put his individual situation in front of the collective".

Spurs will be missing Hugo Lloris and Dele Alli for Saturday's Premier League clash against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.

Netflix’s Sabrina Reboot Teaser Looks Creepy And Great

"He is a man and he is very conscious about what happened, and of course you can not remove it, but he has the capacity to move on, learn and be focused on playing football", said Pochettino.

To accompany his captain's drink driving, Tottenham's financial commitment to building their new stadium culminating in the manager being unable to buy a single player in the transfer market and the club's proposed move-in date to the new White Hart Lane remains uncertain, with a Carabao Cup fixture against Watford now having to be played at MK Dons' ground.

"(We are) disappointed because we are going to miss him for maybe this game and against Inter Milan in Champions League", said Pochettino.

"The most thing here is the confidence and trust we have in him". I told him today where is my present Sonny? He's one of the best strikers in the world.
