According to the forecast of the institution, the maximum sustained winds have decreased to 55 kilometers per hour with higher gusts.

Tropical Storm Isaac, once a hurricane as it traveled southward into the Caribbean has been continuous weakened by wind shear to the point where it was barely hanging onto tropical storm strength on Friday.

The National Hurricane Center's official forecast shows that if Helene can hold together, it will impact Ireland and the northern United Kingdom by early this upcoming week.

All watches and warnings that had been issued on neighboring islands were canceled Thursday.

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.

Florence peaked at a terrifying Category 4 with top winds of 140 mph (225 kph) over warm ocean water before making landfall as a Category 1 hurricane at 7:15 Wrightsville Beach, a few miles (kilometres) east of Wilmington and not far from the SC line.

"Isaac is forecast to become a tropical depression on Sunday and degenerate into a wave on Monday".

The tropics are still looking busy Friday as Hurricane Florence pounds the Carolinas and other systems continue swirling in the Atlantic Ocean.

Preparing for the worst, about 9,700 National Guard troops and civilians were deployed with high-water vehicles, helicopters and boats that could be used to pluck people from the floodwaters.

The National Hurricane Center states that these storm surges are highly likely along portions of the coastlines of North Carolina and SC.
