Gordon did make a leaping touchdown catch in the fourth quarter to tie it 21-all in the fourth quarter, but Taylor missed a chance to connect with the receiver late in regulation - a blown opportunity on a wet field that could have given the Browns their first victory since 2016.

With Gordon solidified in the starting lineup, he will be a constant threat for opposing defenses.

"I think I went out there and served my goal and did whatever I was supposed to do, whether it was to distract the safety or get somebody else open", Gordon said, "More than anything, I did not even thing about the targets until somebody mentioned that at the end of the game". According to Nate Ulrich of The Beacon Journal, Gordon has voiced that he wants to make a strong impact on the game with his play alongside Taylor this season.

"Physically I felt great", he said. "The personnel that we were using obviously called for him to be in the game (on the first play)".

"Improve, complete the ball", Jackson said when asked what Taylor needs to do for the Browns to win on Sunday at New Orleans.

"He is the quarterback", Jackson said of Taylor.

"Got to throw it further", Jackson said.

Tottenham 1, Liverpool 2: Reds stay perfect
But Tottenham were careless from start to finish and they paid the price in the 39th minute. Erik Lamela grabbed what turned out to be a consolation goal for Spurs in added time.

"He was able to play through it in the game, but we'll see how it responds", Jackson said.

"When sacks happen, everybody wants to just pin it on the offensive line", Jackson said on September 10 in his day-after news conference. Everybody plays a part, everybody has a job and a role to do and if somebody falls short, the rest will take the brunt of that.

And although Jackson talked about keeping Gordon on a "pitch count" because he hadn't played in any of the four preseason games and was just coming off a hamstring issue, he ended up playing 69 snaps, second only to Jarvis Landry (81) among Cleveland's receivers. "I did some good things, but I feel like I could have done more. I'm just going to keep on running until I have the opportunity".

What PFF doesn't take into account is the weather that took place in Cleveland.

"More than anything, I didn't even think about the targets until somebody mentioned that at the end of the game".

So, after a season-opening 21-21 tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers, are the Browns committed to giving Taylor a good look this season instead of quickly turning to rookie No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield? So we need to practice and get better, and I think we will. He's got all the tools. Does he have to do his job better? Mayfield shaved off a beard he had been growing since training camp. But, said Jackson, "I don't think it's the ankle sprain that lasts six weeks or whatever that is".
