Plot details are vague at the moment but will focus on Robbie assembling a team of superheroes including Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya, to battle an evil crime lord, who has yet to be unveiled.

Details on the plots are now unknown, though the film will center around the titular team of female heroes and villains based on the DC Comics characters and concepts created by Jordan B. Gorfinkel and Chuck Dixon.

Israel has rejected this analysis, saying its jets had already returned to Israeli airspace before the missile was sacked . For its part, Israel is wary of Iran's growing influence in Syria, which is bringing its archenemy closer to its borders.

The official Birds of Prey baddie will be Gotham City crime lord Black Mask (aka Roman Sionis), who has never been depicted onscreen before - according to The Wrap. The script was penned by Christina Hodson (Bumblebee), who was recently announced to take over scripting duties on DC's Batgirl solo movie after Joss Whedon's departure. The film is expected to begin principal photography in early 2019.

That film does not yet have a release date, with Requa adding, "I don't know where it is on the queue of DC movies".

Robbie will head to Birds of Prey right after completing work on Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
