"Salah for best goal?"

Mohamed Salah's fine individual goal for Liverpool against Everton during the 2017/18 English Premier League season was voted for as the best in the World.

A decent enough goal, but hardly on par with Gareth Bale's audacious overhead kick in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL or Cristiano Ronaldo's similarly acrobatic effort against Juventus or Benjamin Pavard's delightful fader against Argentina AT THE WORLD CUP or Ricardo Quaresma's exquisite "trivela" goal against Iran that Federation Internationale de Football Association subsequently named the goal of the tournament AT THE WORLD CUP. "Nooooo ways", one shocked viewer wrote.

Salah was delighted to pick up the award, despite the controversy.

The exclusion of Mo Salah prompted fans to jokingly predict that a petition for Mo Salah to be included in the Team of the Year is also incoming. "Are you kidding me???" one perplexed fan asked.

Salah also scored memorable goals last season against Manchester City, Watford and Tottenham.

Even James Milner couldn't resist a dig while congratulating his Liverpool teammate...

He scored 43 goals in total and some of those strikes were arguably better than the goal which saw him win the award.

Salah was thrilled to have landed the Puskas Award and expressed his delight after being handed the trophy by Chelsea legend Didier Drogba. "There's nothing much to say about that".

'I have to thank everyone who voted for me.
