Tanushree Dutta recently filed a fresh FIR against Nana Patekar in which she has mentioned everything about the sexual assault incident in a detailed way.

"We have registered a case against Patekar and others under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act meant to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC", additional commissioner of police (west region) Manojkumar Sharma told PTI. According to Dutta's advocate, Nitin Satpute said that a similar complaint had been filed by the actor back in 2008 as well.

Ever since Tanushree Dutta alleged that Nana Patekar had assaulted her, there have been many celebrities who came out in support of her including Priyanka Chopra, Twinkle Khanna and more.

Following the actor's complaint the case was registered at Oshiwara Police Station against Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Samee Siddhiqui and director of the movie, Rakesh Sarang, he said. She said she was forced into silence a decade ago. "Thereafter, the police recorded a statement of her father and lodged an FIR for rioting and causing damage to her vehicle", her lawyer Nitin Satpute told News18 in Mumbai.

Dutta added that she felt "uncomfortable and embarrassed" as a result of his "inappropriate behaviour" and that he had "outraged her modesty".

Dutta had sought the Commission's intervention after claiming that Patekar allegedly misbehaved with her on the sets of a film in 2008. She called her parents and wanted to go home.

Unable to concentrate, Dutta said, she contacted her parents and when they arrived, she left the studio in her auto.

She says that some political party workers started assaulting and damaging her auto while she and her family were trying to leave the venue. This is not the first time an FIR has been filed for the case; in 2008, Tanushree's father Tapan Dutta had filed a case after her vehicle was attacked while leaving the sets of Horn Ok Please, however, there was no outcome for the case. Many parts of my complaint were deleted, omitted and avoided, she alleged.

The commission has also written to Mumbai police, seeking information on the action it had taken on Dutta's complaint in this regard.
