Usain Bolt offered 2-year contract by Champions League-aspiring club

The 100 and 200 metre world record holder quit athletics a year ago and is now on trial with Australian football club Central Coast Mariners as he looks to achieve his new dream of becoming a professional footballer.

Agent Tony Rallis, who is representing Bolt while he is in Australia, told ESPN: "There is a club in Europe that has offered Bolt a two-year deal, they have been taken over by new owners who have aspirations of Champions League football". The report also claims that Everton and Maltese Premier League side Balzan are development partners for Bolt.

Sprint king Usain Bolt has questioned why Australia's anti-doping authority (Asada) has sent him a notice for a drugs test when he's "not even a professional footballer yet".

While yet to earn a contract, Bolt did his chances of getting one no harm on Friday night after scoring twice in a trial match.

Bolt, who retired from track and field in 2017, has previously trained with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund and has made no secret of his desire to play professional football.

The fastest man in the world had been hoping to win a contract with the Mariners in his bid to kickstart his professional football career following his retirement from athletics.

Usain Bolt has been through plenty of drug tests in his time but he was baffled by the most recent request for samples of his blood and urine.
