'Mancunian for life' Guardiola, hints at long City stay

Manchester City will be the only side Pep Guardiola manages in the Premier League, with the Catalan considering himself to be "Mancunian for the rest of my life".

City are now top of the table on goal difference ahead of Liverpool and are away to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

"I don't have doubt about that", Guardiola told a news conference when asked if all of the top five could compete for the title. The out-of-form Eagles are the second-lowest scorers in the division with just five goals and have picked up a solitary point from their last four fixtures.

Fabian Delph, Ikay Gundogan and Danilo are doubts but, with his side scoring 20 goals on their way to six wins from their last seven games, the City boss admits that it's hard to leave players out of his first team.

Guardiola said he identified even more strongly with the city after the bomb attack at Manchester Arena in May previous year which killed 22 people.

Guardiola has revealed he rushed to Manchester Arena after hearing his wife and daughters were caught up in last year's terror attack.

Khashoggi: Tony Blair FAILS to cut Saudi Arabia ties after journalist killing
That's because at the end of the day, Saudi Arabia remains one of the most influential allies of the U.S. in the Middle East . Khashoggi was living in exile in the United States and had planned to move to Istanbul and marry his Turkish fiancée.

"First half we were outstanding", he said. "We made a very good performance". It was my first defeat here and I realised how strong they are. "I met him at Watford when we played there last season and it was a huge pleasure", Guardiola said.

Bernardo Silva, one of City's best performers so far this season, appears the player most likely to come under pressure from the return of De Bruyne to full fitness.

Guardiola praised the quality of Spurs and said they would be even stronger had they been able to spend on new players in the summer. A lot of global players.

"When you know a team does the same thing, it's easier to control it. they can change it. They are a young team with a good 'keeper and a good striker so they have everything to be there", he added. "I can do silly and stupid things there and not be judged".

City travel to Wembley to play Tottenham the day after the stadium stages an National Football League match between Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles. I'm pretty sure Tottenham have a good greenkeeper.

"Hopefully they can finish the stadium as quickly as possible". "It's not necessary to complain about that". There are still three games to go and we have work still to do.
