Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) tipped to cost Rs 39,000 in India

Samsung foldable display smartphone

Royole Releases the World’s First Commercial Foldable Smartphone

According to Gizmochina.com, the company's first foldable phone will be named Samsung Galaxy F, with the F likely standing for foldable, instead of the rumoured Samsung Galaxy X.

These new names include the Samsung Infinity Flex, the Samsung Infinity O and Samsung Infinity U, these new trademarks were recently filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. To prevent the smartphone's foldable hinge from any possible damage in the future, Samsung may place a gear in the hinge to ensure that the phone folds slowly. We are expecting it to either be powered by a Samsung Exynos processor of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. We don't have a confirmed date yet but many are speculating it to launch on November 7 at the Samsung Developers Conference 2018 which is to be held in San Francisco.

When the FlexPai is folded, both screens on the front and back can work together or independently, depending on what you're doing.

Jack Ma Says the Trade War Is the ‘Most Stupid Thing’
Mr Trump has repeatedly criticised China's trade surplus with the USA which he wants to narrow through the imposition of tariffs. The Chinese president said China would push forward multilateral and bilateral cooperation in pursuit of development.

Samsung needs to get the foldable phone right - hoping it will reverse steep declines in profit for its mobile division and restore some of the premium cachet its brand has lost to Apple Inc. While not much is known about the device yet, it is speculated that the device will unfold to look like a tablet. Further, it could cost a fortune as rumours have it that it may be priced at almost $1,500 which roughly translates to over Rs 1 lakh.

Would you use a foldable phone?

The report reiterates that Samsung's foldable smartphone will feature dual OLED displays. FlexPai by Royole Technologies has become the first phone to debut with the technology. Apart from the foldable display itself, the challenge has been in accommodating the battery, camera module and other internal hardware.
