Update: It was a First Wives Club homage!

She powered through the hard moment, ending her live performance with a big smile. They performed in front of white tables topped with flowers and a wedding cake, just like the movie's final scene in which the ladies sing, "You Don't Own Me". "Thought I'd end up with Sean/But he wasn't a match/Wrote some songs about Ricky/Now I listen and laugh/Even nearly got married/And for Pete I'm so thankful/Wish I could say "Thank you" to Malcolm/'Cause he was an angel", she sings.

The "No Tears Left to Cry" singer has teased her fifth album might be out later in 2018 and that we already know the title.

There's no denying that Grande has had a rough year, but she seems to be handling it all with grace.

England kicking game an awesome challenge, says New Zealand's Ben Smith
Brad Shields came "very close" to New Zealand selection before opting to represent England , according to All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster.

She surprised fans by dropping the new song "Thank U, Next" on November 3rd, which is all about her ex-boyfriends. In fact, it happened so quickly that if she hadn't emphasized it with an out loud "oh my god!" straight into the microphone, anyone but the most eagle-eyed fans could have missed it altogether. That was incredible! That was awesome. DeGeneres responds: "It's totally fine, we're happy that you came back". Pete Davidson, who until very recently was Grande's fiancé, had made a joke about their breakup on an SNL preview, and Grande didn't appreciate it.

Those other references are to Big Sean and Ricky Alvarez, who posted a tongue-in-cheek response about his lyric on Tuesday.

Thank U, Next has been playing in our heads (and in the office, and everywhere really) all week and we are living for it. "He is supposed to be here".

Following the "Breathin'" singer's world premiere performance, titular host Ellen DeGeneres told Grande, "Thank you for being here".
