A new Red Dead Redemption 2 update released earlier this week added Red Dead Online to the game. Take that and an unlockable feature like fast travel from your own camp - available once you reach level 65 in Red Dead Online, or unlockable for 112 Gold Bars - and, at current rates, you're looking at a time investment of almost 900 hours. At the moment, they're testing their server loads for greater player numbers, and attempting to fix issues that are preventing players from accessing the beta. After being rescued from a prison transport, you'll be introduced to Red Dead Online's narrative and mechanics through several short missions.
In other words, Rockstar simply wants to prepare its players for that particular eventuality.
Today, Wednesday 28 November, those who played the game on launch day - 26 October - will gain access.
For now, only those with the Ultimate Edition can try out the beta. There's some confusion about exactly how they fit into Red Dead Online's economy, and a fair bit of misinformation being passed around, so here's what we've gleaned from what is actually in the beta right now.
Red Dead Online's honour also comes into play for the Land of Opportunities missions. Assuming you always get 0.02 and there's no loading time it takes 50 games (500 minutes) to get 1 gold bar. These challenges are much like those found in the main game and include categories like Hunting, Combat, Survivalist and so on. Sudden death will trigger in the event of a tie: whoever gets the first kill wins.

You can also change the leading settings for horses as well. One thing that fans have been speculating about is the gold bars in the game. Naturally, the play area gradually shrinks, like any good BR mode. You can submit feedback to them via this form on their website, and one of their team should either provide you with assistance or let you know if the problem is being looked into.
A tactical race to the top. On Thursday, anyone who played between October 26th and 29th will be invited.
Demonstrate your personal specialty in this free-for-all or team-based match: the trickier the weapon you use to land the killing blow, the more points you get.
When creating your Red Dead Online Posse, you have two options.
