Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Switch Release Date Exclusive coming in 2019

At the 2018 Game Awards, a third entry in the beloved Ultimate Alliance series was revealed, showing off a few hints at the familiar overhead hack-and-slash RPG gameplay. Of course, the X-Men are back too. Even more surprising is that it will be an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch console, despite being developed by KOEI TECMO's internal studio Team NINJA (Nioh, Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive).

Take a look at the trailer below. This unprecedented team of characters must use their unique superpowers to defeat the mad cosmic tyrant Thanos and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order.

Rumor: Persona 5 is Coming to Switch
Aside from the Piranha Plant, however, we don't yet know which characters are planned on being introduced into the mix. The voice of Joker in North America, Xander Mobus, is also the voice of the Super Smash Bros announcer.

In the first trailer, we got to see the X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy as well as The Avengers in action.

Coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch, Marvel's new multiplayer naturally follows Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, published with Activision in 2006 and 2009 respectively. "From Avengers Tower to the X-Mansion and beyond, every stop on the unsafe quest to thwart Thanos results in unexpected collisions of fan-favorite characters and iconic locations". This time, players may choose the traditional top-down perspective or a more zoomed in, "heroic" view. With another pair of Joy-Con (sold separately), four players can team up on one system. "The drop-in/drop-out co-op possibilities let players create their own "Ultimate Alliance" at will".
