Asus Chromebook range refresh adds Chrome OS tablet alongside new models

Asus reveals new Chromebooks and Chrome OS tablet ahead of CES

If you're in the market for a mid-range or high-end Chromebook, this is not for you. The first PCs that feature the new chips will arrive in Q1 from the likes of Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Huawei, Lenovo, and Samsung, with more on the way. The 14-inch display can either be a 1366×768 non-touch panel or, for an additional $30, a 1920×1080 touch screen. HP will be releasing AMD A4 processor edition of the Chromebook in this month and later AMD A6 variant will be also available. Specifications-wise, it's identical while battery life is promised 11 hours on a single charge. As I said yesterday with the AMD-powered Acer devices, don't expect Pixelbook performance. Starting this quarter, AMD plans to provide regular/frequent Radeon Software Adrenalin updates for all Ryzen Processors with Radeon Vega graphics via AMD.com - game ready drivers etc.

It too will be powered by an Intel Celeron processor, come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

The base model is priced at $269 and the more expensive model at $299. HP will make this device available in three color options: white, blue and gray. The CT100 will be a new tablet form-factor for Asus, following the lead of the Google Pixel Slate, and feature a 9.7-inch QXGA wide-angle touch display to compete against the iPad. It has a 1920x1080 touchscreen display. The A6-9220C is a two-core, two-thread processor with a base clock speed of 1.8GHz that can boost to 2.7GHz, and is accompanied by the A4-9120C which boasts a slightly-lower base clock speed of 1.6GHz. Curiously, it's rather meager on the storage with only 32 or 64 of slower eMMC storage.

Disneyland raises cost of some tickets by 25%
The new round of price hikes come ahead of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge this summer in Disneyland, Fortune reported . The prices apply to both the original Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and its sister park, California Adventure.

While many laptops are choosing to forgo USB-A ports altogether for USB-C, the HP Chromebook 14's choice to keep 2 USB-A ports alongside the 2 USB-C ports - as well as a microSD slot and a headphone jack - is as refreshing as it is appreciated.

The prices for Acer's Chromebook 315 will start from $279.99 (roughly Rs. 19,471) with availability set for February this year.
