Now, the company, which is attending the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 in Las Vegas, has announced to bring Google Assistant to Google Maps for both Android and iOS phones. As Google reported, the implementation of the Google Assistant in the navigation app would deliver information on ETAs, reply to messages, initiate and answer phone calls, play music or podcasts, and search for places on the map, among other features. This new feature lets users translate other languages into their native language by interpreting the language, the Interpreter mode also puts the spoken text on the screen to provide aid for the conversation. "Our core focus is to make a product that can understand everything you say, can hear you, can convert those intents into actions and help you fulfill them", vice president of product for Google Assistant Manuel Bronstein said. All you need to do to check-in is say "Hey Google, check in to my flight", and Assistant will take care of the rest. Some of the participating hotels include Choice Hotels, InterContinental Hotels, Priceline, Expedia, and Travelclick. The will be rolled out to all Android users in the coming weeks.
CES has become an important staging ground for Google as it pushes its hardware products to compete with gear from the likes of Amazon, Apple and Samsung.
