The 13-year-old from Barron, Wisconsin who went missing after her parents' murder in October had escaped and found help, according to a report by CNN affiliate KMSP in Minneapolis.

Thousands of area residents joined volunteer search parties while investigators fielded thousands of tips, but there had been no sign of Jayme until Thursday's announcement.

CBS Minnesota spoke to Jayme's aunt Sue on Thursday evening, who said her niece was now in the hospital. Jayme's aunt, Jennifer Smith, told KSTP Jayme was taken to a hospital to be checked out but authorities didn't think she was injured.

Sources close to the death investigation say the suspect rents the property for hunting purposes.
