According to The Quint's Stutee Ghosh Kaushal, in his "all guns blazing avatar, plays his role with exactly the right amount of vigour and vulnerability". Based on true events the film follows the story of India's covert operation carried out as retribution for the devastating Uri attack.

Apart from Vicky, the film also stars Paresh Rawal as National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Yami Gautam as a no-nonsense interrogation officer.

Several of Vicky's friends from Bollywood have been lending their support to the film as well.
