Labour MP Luciana Berger, who supports the People's Vote campaign for a second European Union referendum, warned Mr Corbyn not to hesitate in giving his backing to a public ballot.

Jan Baykara, a 24-year-old organiser for Islington Young Labour, said: "The People's Vote is interesting but a detached form of politics".
