Detroit Pistons Acquire Thon Maker as Part of Three-Team Deal

RIGHTS MANAGED- DO NOT REUSE

Milwaukee Bucks trade center Thon Maker to Detroit Pistons

The Milwaukee Bucks have acquired Nikola Mirotic from the New Orleans Pelicans, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal also includes the Detroit Pistons, who had traded Johnson to the Bucks for Thon Maker on Wednesday.

But there is action happening elsewhere, and Pelicans are involved in it, as they have made a decision to send Nikola Mirotic to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Measles case confirmed in Denton County
Measles infections in Europe hit a decade high in 2018, despite more children than ever before receiving vaccinations. The mainstream of those infected are children, who have not been vaccinated against the disease, executives said.

The Pelicans also receive multiple second-round draft choices in the exchange. The team has placed an emphasis on three-point shooting this year with the addition of new head coach Mike Budenholzer, and Mirotic should certainly provide some reinforcements in that regard - he's taking 7.2 per game and knocking down almost 37 percent of them. The 27-year-old is in the final year of his contract worth $12.5 million and is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans will add Jason Smith and four second round picks from Milwaukee, along with Johnson from Detroit.

In 35 games (no starts) this season with Milwaukee, Maker, 21, averaged 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds while playing just 11 minutes per night.
