Forbes: Suns’ 2019 value increases 17 percent

The New York Knicks are the NBA's most valuable team for a fourth consecutive year, according to an annual list published by business magazine Forbes on Wednesday. The former Kentucky big man is making $18.6 million this year, but his contract is set to expire.

According to rival executives cited by ESPN, the Celtics are expected to make a play for the Turkish center, who is averaging 14 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in only 25 minutes a night.

To explain the jump in average team value, Forbes said each of the NBA's 30 franchises received more than $110 million last season from equally-shared revenue like national media, sponsorships, licensing and worldwide streams. "Each day I spend in the National Basketball Association is a blessing and I look forward to my next adventure", Kanter said. He has been vocal recently about frustrations with the Knicks organization and the lack of playing time he has been receiving.

The Houston Rockets were among the playoff teams who had interest in signing Matthews after his buyout, sources said.

Freezing rain warning continues this evening
Late Wednesday night (after midnight) through Thursday, sleet and freezing rain will cause icy issues in Northeast Michigan. Those three counties are under special weather statements and are also expected to see freezing rain followed by rain.

This would be an interesting move because Kanter is a quality player.

The Knicks (10-43) acquired Kanter in a 2017 trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers have been strongly linked while the Portland Trail Blazers could also take a chance on the 34-year-old. The trade deadline passed without action on Kanter. Additionally, Kanter will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
