BTS attends the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on February 10, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

The pair won for "Shallow", their song from A Star Is Born. She shares the win with her co-writers Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt.

LIVE from the GRAMMYs red carpet in Los Angeles, host Tracy Moore chats with the night's biggest artists and nominees while music correspondent Devo Brown and fashion correspondent Lauren Howe break down the night's hottest tracks and looks.

Unsurprisingly and well-deservedly, Childish Gambino was given best music video for "This Is America".

Along with Best Alternative Album, Colors was also awarded with a Grammy for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Emily Lazar, one of the engineers who worked on the album and won alongside Beck, said onstage that she was the first female mastering engineer to win in the latter category.

"If there´s a little girl waiting up late to see me sing on the Grammys, then I´m happy I´m here". The telecast of the awards show is scheduled to run from 8:00 until 11:30 p.m. ET.

Women were strongly represented at this year's Grammys.

Women artists scored nominations in all of the top categories, after being largely muted a year ago: rapper Cardi B, pop diva Lady Gaga, pop futurist Janelle Monae and folk rocker Brandi Carlile are among the frontrunners.

"This is going to be a special Grammys".

"Yes, we have so much more work to do, but this is a moment to be celebrated. This is a moment for women to love on each other and let each other know", she added.

Carlile, 37, took home three early trophies, two for her Americana music single The Joke and another for her album By the Way, I Forgive You.

Women Dominate Grammy Nominations
Carlile is the most nominated woman with six nominations, including bids for song and record of the year with " The Joke ". While last year's show was held in NY - for the first time since 2003 - the 61st Grammys are back in Los Angeles.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper just won a 2019 Grammy Award together in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. "This is just the beginning of moving to a more inclusive future".

When asked about the lack of women in the top categories at the 2018 Grammys, Recording Academy CEO Neil Portnow said women need to "step up".

Before this year's Grammys, Beck won five previous times, including his 2015 awards for Best Rock Album and Album of the Year for Morning Phase.

An absent Ariana Grande, who pulled out of the show last week after a dispute with producers, won her first Grammy, best pop vocal album for "Sweetener". "This is a business where sometimes, you know, it's up to a bunch of people who might not understand what a mixed-race kid from Canada has to say or a fly Spanish girl from NY or anybody else or a brother from Houston.my brother Travis [Scott]". "I hope you do, dad". "I am such a misfit", she said.

When she returned onstage for her second win, she was in shock.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Jennifer Lopez also spoke and stood in solidary with Obama, Gaga and Alicia Keys, who is hosting the show airing on CBS.

Some complained that a black artist should be involved in the tribute, while others said stronger vocalists should perform over Lopez.

Fifteen-time Grammy Award victor Alicia Keys will host the ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as nominees wait to find out who will take home the win for popular awards like record of the year and album of the year.

A performance honoring the legacy of the late "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin is also expected.
