Given the exhaustive price cuts, the starting price of Model 3 resides at $42,900, which is still substantially above the target of $35,000, Tesla head Elon Musk initially promised.

Reminded by a Twitter follower that the promise was for a $35,000 vehicle without the fancy accounting, Musk replied: "We're doing everything we can to get there".

Tesla has said its focus this quarter is on extending it's outreach and supplying cars to customers wanting the Tesla experience in China and Europe.

A Tesla Model S owner tweeted to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, asking when the Sentry mode would be out for the cars.

Ironically, there was a staffed fire station within a mile or two, and Valley Children's Hospital is very nearby. Anyone with information on the case is being asked to contact the Madera County Sheriff's Office at 559-675-7770.

Musk took to Twitter in response to an account called Tesla Owners Silicon Valley (you can guess why they're called that), which posted a photo of a Tesla vehicle with its window smashed in, asking when improved security features would arrive. "Because if we don't get these cars delivered, you don't have a job tomorrow, '" the former employee said. Musk said last week a $35,000 version that could be sold profitably was perhaps six months away.

Musk maintains that Model 3 demand is "insanely high", but his company has not released any figures to demonstrate that.

As for the Tesla Model 3, the Performance allows the one behind the wheel to play with 450 hp.

The two laid-off employees said delivery targets assigned for North America - made up mostly of US buyers and market - this quarter would be 55 percent to 60 percent of what the targets were in the last quarter of 2018, leading to a major change in Tesla strategies. Each of the new entrant's first 200,000 buyers will be eligible for a full federal subsidy. Tesla is set to introduce a new crossover type vehicle in March this year the Model Y as reported in a recent Digital Journal article.
