As police continue to dig for clues in the death of Valerie Reyes, the Westchester woman who was found bound and stuffed in a suitcase in a wooded area in Greenwich, a reward is being offered for information.

Valerie Reyes, 24, of New Rochelle, was identified as the body found in a suitcase in Greenwich, Conn., police said. They say he said he then tied her and put her in a suitcase. "I'm paranoid. I'm getting anxiety attacks".

Valerie Reyes' mother, Norma Sanchez, grieves for her daughter during a candlelight vigil in NY. Her hands and feet were bound.

Amateur sleuths pointed the finger at Reyes' ex-boyfriend. The pair broke up a week before she was murdered. One wrote on Twitter: "He's looking so f***ing (suspicious)".

Federal authorities said Da Silva Rojas told authorities in a videotaped interview at the New Rochelle Police Department that Reyes fell to the floor and hit her head after they had sex on January 29 at her residence.

Her most recent ex wrote on Twitter: "It wasn't me".

"The arrested individual is also believed to be involved in the death of Valerie".

The arrest of Da Silva followed the examination of multiple crime scenes and hundreds of hours of surveillance footage as well as numerous interviews with potential witnesses, police said. Officials said her hands and feet were bound when her body was found by highway workers on February 5.

"She said, "Mami, his mother has cancer and I want to support him.' She was an angel like that", Reyes" mother, Norma Sanchez said.

"I asked her why do you feel this way?"

News of the arrest came on the same day as Reyes's mourning loved ones paid tribute to her at an emotional wake. He said, "Every suitcase body I ever had they were known to each other, with the exception of the Mafia", calling it an "interpersonal type" of killing. An autopsy was carried out on Wednesday night, but the cause of death has not been disclosed by the coroner. It's 10 miles away from the NY border of her Westchester County home. "Was there someone at your house?' Reyes" mother said.

According to The Journal, Reyes had taken her iPad, iPhone, clothes and bed sheets with her when she disappeared.

A candlelight vigil was organised on behalf of the Reyes family on Thursday night.

Police said tips have been pouring in with leads in her horrific and sudden slaying.

Greenwich Police Captain Robert Berry issued a statement last week relaying the community's "heartfelt condolences".

After she vanished, her family hired a private investigator to look for her.

Among them was a man who identified himself as Valerie's boyfriend.

"Today he tweeted: "#JusticeforValerie" and "What's done in the dark will always find a way to shine".

He later tweeted the broken heart emoji and told those who offered support he was "finding it hard to come to terms with everything going on".
