To be eligible, drivers must meet one of five criteria: past Daytona 500 winners and past Daytona 500 pole winners who raced full-time last season, previous Clash winners who raced full-time a year ago, pole winners from last season and drivers who qualified for the playoffs in 2018.
Byron and Bowman edged the other two Hendrick drivers: seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson and fan favorite Chase Elliott. The 18-year-old son of NASCAR veteran Jeff Burton kicks off his first fulltime season in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series next week.

"There's different pressures put on each team, and certainly outside pressures of ... somebody came up with a great idea of who's going to win first, Jimmie or Chad, and the pressure, can we win again", Johnson said. "I made a move and got to the inside and was side drafting him, and his vehicle started wobbling".
