"I guess you were a hit at the Grammys", Robinson, who quietly lived in the White House during former President Barack Obama's two terms, wrote her famous daughter.
Obama asked her mom if she watched it and Robinson replied: "I saw it because Gracie called me".
The playful conversation began with Robinson referring to her daughter's appearance at Sunday's Grammy Awards - and making a Peak Mom suggestion that she was miffed at not getting a heads-up that Obama would be on TV.
