Naomi Osaka announces split with coach Sascha Bajin

Top-ranked Naomi Osaka says she has split with coach Sascha Bajin a little more than two weeks after winning the Australian Open for her second consecutive Grand Slam title.

In this file photo taken on January 26, 2019, Sascha Bajin (front 2nd left), coach of Japan's Naomi Osaka, watches Osaka play against Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova during the women's singles final on day 13 of the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne.

Bajin had suggested that he was in for the "long haul" with Osaka in an interview late a year ago, but no explanation has yet been given for the decision for the pair to split.

'I thank him for his work and wish him all the best in the future'.
