Those who are new to Spotify Premium can join free for 30 days, then are billed $9.99 after. Premium users can now access Hulu series like The Handmaid's Tale and Castle Rock, along with 85,000 additional television episodes. Best of all, the updated Spotify Premium plan is available to new and existing Spotify Premium subscribers.
The big picture: Spotify and Hulu are again joining forces, this time to wage war against Apple and its upcoming video streaming service (which could be combined with Apple Music in a cross-entertainment bundle similar to what we are seeing here). Obviously you'll need to stomach some adverts all the same: Hulu has a "no ads" package, but that's $11.99 per month. Just last week, the company started offering 6 months of free Spotify Premium to new Samsung Galaxy S10 owners as part of its partnership with Samsung. If they've not already created a Hulu account, they'll be prompted to do so.
World Wide Web turns 30 years old
Thirty years ago on Tuesday, Tim Berners-Lee essentially gave birth to the web we know it today. Berners-Lee believes users had found the web "not so pretty" recently.
Existing Spotify Premium users need only visit the Your Services Page on your Spotify account to activate Hulu's ad supported plan as part of your account. If you were already using the Spotify Premium and Hulu bundle at $12.99/month, the new price will roll over at the end of this billing period. The Spotify Premium bundle that appeared past year gave you both services for a combined $12.99/month, which translated to some slight savings. No word on just how many "supplies" that actually refers to.
