Sheldon Richardson intends to join the Cleveland Browns when the new NFL season begins on Wednesday

No deals will be finalized until free agency opens on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Earlier today, it was reported that the Browns were signing defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson and later this afternoon former Ravens 2015 first round pick Breshad Perriman was put back on the payroll.

The Browns finished 12th in defensive DVOA previous year and are making additions to their defensive line that should position them to be even better next season.

Richardson made his lone Pro Bowl in 2014, when he had 66 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss and a career-high eight sacks in 16 starts. With the addition of Richardson, Cleveland now fields a starting front four of Myles Garrett, Richardson, Larry Ogunjobi and Vernon. The 28-year-old was the No. 13 overall pick by the Jets in 2013.

The case is being described as the biggest college admissions scam ever prosecuted by the US Department of Justice. Singer entered a guilty plea to racketeering and other charges Tuesday in federal court.

NY traded Richardson to Seattle in 2017 before he signed past year with the Vikings.

Another possibility is through trade, and speculation surrounding New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. and the Browns won't go away.

While talented, Richardson has also run into some trouble.
