Google Hypes Its “Vision for the Future of Gaming” With GDC Teaser

The teaser asks people to gather around as it unveils its "vision for the future of gaming".

Raymond revealed the news herself in a tweet, simply saying she had "joined Google as a VP". It's relatively certain, however, that Google isn't going to just announce an online game streaming service, as it probably wouldn't sell access to something like that at the Google Store.

Google has teased before that it has plans for the gaming market and will be making a grand unveiling at the upcoming Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2019.

In the meantime, Google drummed up interest in its streaming event when it posted a YouTube countdown page Tuesday, inviting visitors to "Discover a new way to play". The potential Google console has been rumored for months.

Either way, the idea of a company as big as Google entering the console gaming space is an exciting - and possibly scary - prospect.

It could be that Project Stream and Project Yeti work together in some way, and the GDC event will see Google launching a hardware product along with the commercial version of Project Stream.
